I've been spending a lot of time lately setting up a blog using a range of Khan Academy and YouTube clips to explain the four operations.
These are designed as extension supports for higher students needing advancement, and fit perfectly into the extension program I'm running at the moment. The clips run sequentially, starting at about a year 4 level and finishing at around the end of grade five.
There are missions or challenges (stop and try tasks) in between many clips. Check it out if you're interested, particularly if you have some higher students needing some reasonably independent extension tasks @ www.nextmaths.blogspot.com.
